Riding Off into the Sunset
Suite No. 3: Seventh Movement:
ADVENTURES IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST (PART SEVEN)
King Malignancy
As Claire was hovering over the sea, she noticed a knight on a horse galloping through the waves, and she zoomed over to make their aquaintence.
"Hello, kind sir! If you don't mind me asking, why are you galloping through the waves?" Claire shouted at the knight.
The knight reined his horse in a bit. "I'm running away, and I don't want anybody to track me. A tyrannical king wants to execute me because I disobeyed unlawful orders," the knight shouted back. "He commanded me and my men to stab peaceful protesters and then falsely claim that the protestors were violent criminals even though they were just exercising their right to free speech and to the freedom of assembly. Even if a few of the protesters had committed crimes at some point, they still had the right to due process before receiving any punishment--like everyone else. Now the king is claiming that I committed sedition and aided insurrectionists. The king claims that I am a traitor who deserves the punishment of death. Members of his secret police are chasing me, and they're not far behind."
"That's terrible!" Claire exclaimed.
"The king has ordered knights and soldiers to police the citizens of our own realm when instead we are supposed to protect our citizens from foreign invaders--the king has instead commanded the knights and soldiers of this realm to murder our own people. I told my men that as honorable soldiers we are obligated to disobey the king's unlawful commands, and my men agreed. First and foremost, as soldiers we must uphold the laws of this land and the constitution--not to do the bidding of a lawless dictator. The king is the traitor, not me or my men!" the knight blurted out.
"I understand! Please, follow me!" Claire exclaimed. "I can show you a place in the enchanted forest where the secret police will never find you. You shouldn't be riding out here in the open like this."
Enjoying the Swamp
Claire flew behind the knight and rapidly fluttered her wings to cover the horse's tracks with loose dirt and leaves and brush. They rested near a stream, where they each took a drink of water. Eventually they came to a cave deep in the enchanted forest. The opening of the cave was just wide enough to enable the horse to pass through into a huge cavern, where the the three of them made themselves comfortable.
"We are actually in the super-enchanted part of the forest, which tends to frighten the average person away, so I'm pretty sure we are going to be safe here for a while," Claire assured the knight. "Please tell me more about the king," Claire politely inquired.
"The king is a cruel tyrant who causes divisiveness and hatred and violence, an egomaniacal oppressor who encourages other people to commit murder on his behalf," the knight replied. "He laughs while the masses starve and die from lack of health care while he enriches himself and his friends--'friends' who support the king's cruelty and venality while ignoring his crimes so that they can indulge freely in their own corruption."
"I saw a king and his family sitting on alligators one day recently. They seemed to be enjoying the swamp," Claire stated.
"If you saw a king in a swamp with friends and family, that had to be him," the knight replied. "He loves to party with his wealthy friends who bribe him and kiss his ring in full view of everyone--even though he had promised his supporters numerous times that he would drain the swamp."
The Moon: Pisces
After a few minutes, the knight continued, "I just had a vision while resting in this cave. The rich are like beasts howling at the moon. They don't seem to realize that the sun is the source of all life on this planet and the source of light for the moon as it moves through its phases. The bestial sickness of greed doesn't allow them to see that the spiritual light of the Source unites all of Creation--including all of the people and creatures of this Earth. They have to take all the money and power for themselves at the expense of everyone else, and like animals, the rich intimidate or harm or kill anyone who threatens them or their wealth. They don't care about anyone or anything else under the sun."
Page of Cups
"I understand your feelings of anger and betrayal. Please, try to get some rest," Claire sympathized. "While you rest, I will search for food and try to find out more about what is happening in your realm. Don't worry, I will ask a powerful ally to protect you while I'm gone." The knight and his horse soon fell asleep, and Claire flew back to the knight's realm near the ocean.
Soon Claire arrived at the ocean and came upon the Page of Cups. "Why are you staring at the golden cup if you don't mind me asking?" Claire asked the Page.
"Because the fish tells me things. In fact, the fish just told me that you and someone you know are in danger."
Death: Scorpio
The Page continued, "The fish just showed me Death on a pale horse. Don't fear, though--the vision isn't necessarily showing me that you and your friend are going to die. On the Tree of Life, the figure of death is associated with the Water sign Scorpio--in other words, with transformation. The fish has shown me in the vision that you and your friend are going to experience a change or transformation of some kind. That's all I can tell you now."
Archangel Gabriel
Meanwhile, after Claire had flown away, the knight fell asleep. He woke up and opened his eyes for a moment but soon closed them again. Suddenly he had a vision of a beautiful angel, who spoke to him, "I am Archangel Gabriel. Claire has asked me to protect you. Sleep or plumb the depths of your mind in meditation. Rest, you are not in danger here."
The knight fell asleep again. When he woke up, he looked around and asked himself, "Did I dream that an Archangel was talking to me? That's strange, but after all, I am in the super-enchanted part of the forest."
Moon Goddess
As Claire searched the Realm of Water, she came upon a Moon Goddess sitting in flowers. Claire gasped, "Forgive me, great Goddess, I was startled!" Claire exclaimed, "because you are so beautiful."
"Thank you, child," the Goddess responded. "Not everyone can see me. Most people are too preoccupied with the external world--with obtaining money and material objects. They ignore the wealth of the imagination and the subconscious mind and the soul."
"That is truly a shame!" Claire declared. "Please, can you tell me what is happening in this realm now?"
"Some people know me as Luna," Goddess replied. "Unfortunately, more than a few people who are affected by my light have become lunatics. My light can cause some people to experience the great inner abundance of the imagination, but it can also cause lunacy in people who only care about power and money--for they are never satisfied, and they often cause great harm to the people and creatures of the Earth and to the Earth itself. This is the phase that we are in now. Beware, child."
"I promise that I will be careful, great Goddess," Claire replied, "Thank you for sharing with me."
As Claire flew away, she waved at the Moon Goddess. The Moon Goddess nodded and smiled.
Queen of Cups
Soon Claire came upon the Queen of Cups, who was gazing into her golden cup. "Beloved Queen--so good to see you again!" Claire exclaimed.
"Good to see you again, child," the Queen replied. "How are you?"
"I have a friend, a knight, who is in great trouble for disobeying the unlawful orders of King Malignancy! I am terribly worried about my knight friend," Claire lamented. "Can you please help me with your sage advice, your Majesty?"
The Queen gazed at her cup. "Malignancy is a false king who has gained power through the help of his super-wealthy friends. He is the puppet of rapacious men. You and your friend must hide for awhile, but you will both experience inner transformation. In fact, the world will experience a great transformation as people awaken to the truth and stand up to defend their honor and integrity and their communities. The bad people will find out what justice really means, dear child."
"Thank you, great Queen," Claire replied as she curtsied. "I can always count on you."
Goddess of the Stream
Meanwhile the knight rode back to the stream on his horse. The knight dismounted and drank again from the stream, and the knight let his horse graze awhile. Suddenly the knight noticed a beautiful queen standing next to the stream. "What? Am I having another vision?" he asked himself.
"I am the queen here. I take care of the stream in this realm, which feeds into a river that extends all the way to the ocean and into the sky and returns to us as rain. The stream satiates the thirst of numerous creatures. You are welcome to drink here. Please satisfy your thirst anytime," the Queen encouraged him.
As the knight took another drink, he felt connected with the webs of life that were brought to life by the water. Then his personality vanished. He felt one with the earth and the sky and the cosmos. "This water is awesome! Thank you, your Majesty!" The Queen nodded and disappeared into the forest.
Ace of Cups
Meanwhile, the knight returned to the cave and closed his eyes. Soon he had another vision: a cup floated above a pool of water as it fountained streams of water to the pool below, and a white dove flew down toward the top of the cup with what appeared to be a communion wafer in its beak. Startled, the knight blurted out, "What is this?" He opened his eyes, and the vision disappeared. The knight looked around as his horse snorted and then he fell back to sleep. The knight pondered his vision, and he suddenly heard an inner voice.
"The cup is a holy grail. If you gaze into it, you have visions of symbols that represent spiritual principle, and you might feel like an eternal child and experience the infinite abundance of the soul. The dove represents the Holy Spirit who brings down abstract spiritual principles as archetypes or symbols to your plane of existence and the water continually purifies the spirit. Drinking from the grail provides you with a profound sense of unity and eternity, which is symbolized by the balanced cross on the wafer in the dove's beak--an archetype of the subtle elements in harmony." The knight frantically looked around the cave but couldn't find anyone but his horse, who was still sleeping.
"Wow! It's like my personality has completely disappeared! I am really experiencing a profound sense of unity and eternity, which I guess is also symbolized by the circles in the vision," the knight blurted out. His horse snorted again but continued sleeping.
Nine of Cups (Jupiter in Pisces)
Claire continued to search for information, but she started feeling a little hungry. She entered what appeared to be a restaurant and encountered a gentleman sitting near nine golden cups on a table. "Kind sir, do you have any scraps that you can share? I'm feeling more than a little hungry."
"Dear child, this is not a restaurant. It is actually more like a church."
"I don't understand," Claire replied, confused.
"In a way, this is a church where the spirit is nourished," the man answered. "This nourishment comes from the heart and the subconscious mind and the splendor of the imagination and the intellect. You may stay here and rest and experience this spiritual nourishment if you wish."
"Oh, thank you, kind sir!" Claire blurted out. "Can I gaze into your golden cups for awhile? Are they holy grails?"
"Yes, child. You see nine of them on the table to reveal that they are associated with the ninth Emanation of the Tree of Life, which is the Emanation of the feminine Holy Spirit, who brings internal and external abundance to our realm," the man explained.
"Oh, that is so lovely. Thank you for sharing!" Claire exclaimed as she continued to gaze into the cups.
The Chariot (Cancer)
Meanwhile, back in the cave, the knight closed his eyes again. Unexpectedly he had another vision--this time he envisioned a knight wearing blue armor in a chariot. "I don't get this one either," the knight sighed.
Suddenly the knight in the chariot spoke: "I am on a quest to find the holy grail that enables us to experience the dimensions of Universal Consciousness. The grail will guide me on all the paths of the Tree of Life. I hope to cross the Abyss that separates the heavens from the planes of form and enter the Emanation of Understanding, the home of our celestial Mother," the blue knight claimed.
"Wow, that sounds transcendent. I'd like to do that too. I'm a knight. Can I go on that quest too?"
"Yes," the blue knight shouted as he disappeared into the wild in his chariot.
Three of Cups (Mercury in Cancer)
Suddenly Claire flew above a harvest festival where three ladies raised golden cups in a toast as they danced. Claire spiraled down to them and exclaimed, "This is so lovely. May I dance with you?"
"Of course, dear child! This dance is for everyone. Come join us," one of the ladies replied.
"Oh, thank you," Claire exclaimed. Claire danced and danced and drank from a golden cup, and suddenly she felt one with the dance, a dance of abundance that seemed to spread throughout the world and the cosmos. After awhile, Claire became tired and sat down to rest while the ladies continued their dance. Suddenly Claire noticed the abundance of the harvest all around her, and she asked the ladies, "Can I take some food with me? I have a friend who must be starving by now. I would really appreciate it!"
"Of course! Take what you need. There is more than enough for everyone," one of the ladies replied as she continued dancing.
Claire found a sack nearby and stuffed it with as much food as she could carry. "Thank you!" she blurted out as she flew away with the sack over her shoulder.
Ten of Cups (Mars in Pisces)
Eventually King Malignancy and his minions were brought to justice, and the knight could finally come out of hiding. He got married, and together he and his wife had a family. One day as his children were dancing, a rainbow with ten golden cups appeared. He and his wife raised their arms in joy. He thought to himself, "I have traveled all of the paths of the Tree of Life and and have experienced the unity underlying all of creation, and I have found joy and abundance right here in the present moment with my wife and children. What a long, incredible journey it has been!"

Dream Angel
Suite No. 3, Eighth Movement:
ADVENTURES IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST (PART EIGHT)
Claire in the Garden
One day in the enchanted forest, Claire met an angel who spoke to her: "You walk between worlds, child. You are actually home with your parents and your cats now, but you are also experiencing the spiritual dimension as a faery who helps other people and creatures and learns from other spiritual beings. What happens in that spiritual dimension is often a reflection of what happens in the three-dimensional realm where your physical body resides, which is why you often meet greedy, destructive, rapacious, prideful, fascistic beings in the enchanted forest--beings who wish to control and dominate the world through power and wealth and who only desire to gain more power and wealth at the expense of the vast majority of other souls. I want you to wake up now, child, with the knowledge that you are a multidimensional being who experiences the fifth dimension even when you are awake. Wake up now and experience the power and the glory and the beauty and the victory and the splendor of life as it manifests in the three-dimensional realm! Wake up, child!"
Suddenly Claire opened her eyes and knew that she was home in bed. She got dressed and put on her faery wings and went into the garden to play with her cats in the garden. Suddenly Claire heard a voice, "I am your dream angel. Look for a golden temple on the path into the forest next to your house."
Golden Temple in the Forest
Claire left the back yard and soon found a golden temple in the forest. The dream angel spoke again, "Only you can see this temple, child. Climb up the stairs and push on the pyramid wall."
Claire pushed on the golden wall of the temple and a door suddenly opened.
"Enter the temple now," the angel commanded.
Walking Between Worlds
Inside the temple, Claire immediately encountered Mr. Mellifluous and faeries fluttering between tiger lilies.
"Mr. Mellifluous! So good to see you! How did you get here?" Claire blurted out.
"This is a portal between worlds," the gnome replied. "The dream angel will call you here whenever you are needed in the enchanted forest. Right now you need to be with your mom and dad and learn a little more about your three-dimensional world."
Pink Fairy Lanterns
Mr. Mellifluous continued, "If we leave the temple and walk a little farther down the path, we will find lovely flowers that reveal the splendor of nature. I will be with you the entire way."
"Okay, that sounds like fun! Let's go!" Claire exclaimed.
Soon they came upon lovely pink flowers that glowed in the sunlight. "These are pink faery lanterns," Mr. M explained.
"Oh, they are so lovely! I would like to carry a faery lantern with me to light my way," Claire responded.
"No need. the sun is lighting our way, dear child. Please, let me show you something else a little farther along the way," Mr. M replied.
Drowning the Web of Life
Soon, they came upon a dam in a river canyon. "This is a dam that has drowned all the flowers in the canyon. The natural splendor that once existed in the canyon has vanished. The beautiful web of life has disappeared because a few powerful farmers and corporations influenced politicians who voted to build the dam and to divert the river water to irrigate their crops so that they could gain more wealth, and with it, more power."
"Were there pink fairy lanterns in the canyon?" Claire asked.
"Oh, yes, and many more stunning species of flowers," Mr. M lamented.
"Oh, no! That's terrible!" Claire cried out.
Tearing Up the Web of Life
They continued a little farther on the path and encountered heavy machinery tearing up the forest. "Why are they doing that to our forest?"
"My guess is that some developers want to build large mansions in a place like this far away from the city," Mr. M replied.
"They are destroying the web of life too," Claire lamented.
Pounding Stone near Canal
Claire and Mr. M continued on the path and came upon a large, flat rock with smooth cups in the stone. Mr. M explained, "This is a pounding stone where Native Americans grounded acorns and other nuts. Many tribes once lived in these hills. Unfortunately many of them were killed off or driven onto reservations during a genocide that happened not very long ago. If you look carefully, you will see a canal that diverts most of water from the river that we just encountered."
"You mean the pioneers who settled this land killed off the native peoples and since then have proceeded to destroy many of the webs of life?" Claire asked angrily.
"I'm afraid so," Mr. M replied.
Vision of Abundance
"I can't look at this place anymore," Claire stated as she closed her eyes. After a few moments, she had a vision of golden plates and cups on a white tablecloth. She could also see a golden crown with a balanced cross on top of one of the cups. Claire explained her vision to Mr. M.
"That is a vision of abundance that reveals the harmony of the subtle elements and the incorruptible gold of the spirit. You remember the golden temple, right? Do you remember what was at the top of the pyramid?" Mr. M inquired.
"Yeah. A golden balanced cross. That must represent the harmony and abundance and magnificence of the spiritual elements that exist within each of us. Is that right?" Claire asked.
"Yes, you're vision is from the fifth dimension, and it reveals the harmony, abundance, and magnificence that can manifest in this three-dimensional realm. Unfortunately, not many people here are in touch with that dimension yet. One reason you are here, dear child, is to help people to see and understand," Mr. M claimed.
"I'm not sure I can do that!" Claire responded.
"We have to try, dear child. We have to try," Mr. M insisted.
Homeless People
"We are going to travel in the spirit vision now," Mr. M stated. "I would like you to open your third eye and gaze into the streets of the nearest city. What do you see?"
"I see many homeless, destitute people on the city streets," Claire responded.
"Yes, you are seeing many homeless people in the wealthiest country in the world. The problem is that a few billionaires hoard the majority of wealth while the majority of working people live from paycheck to paycheck and have only a few dollars in the bank--and as you can see many are so destitute that they can't afford food or shelter," Mr. M replied. "Many working people are only one illness or accident away from bankruptcy. In this realm, most people don't have access to affordable health care while the super rich are plagued by the illness of greed that harms so many other people."
Voter Suppression
"That sounds like an avoidable tragedy, as my father would say," Claire responded.
"Yes, indeed. What else do you see?" Mr. M asked. "Oh, this is strange," Claire responded. "I see a monster eating a polling place. What does that mean?"
"One political party works to gerrymander voting districts and to brainwash people with propaganda and to make rules to suppress the vote so that the other party tends to lose elections even though a majority of the people have the same values as the losing party, and that unfortunately leads to voter apathy. Moreover, the rich have nearly absolute control of the members of one party and enough control of the other party through dark money campaign contributions that poor and working people don't have a living wage that keeps up with inflation or a universal health care system or free child care. They bought off political 'representatives' who do whatever they can to serve the rich, such as giving billionaires permanent tax cuts, while also doing whatever they can to shred the social safety net--hence billions of dollars are given to people who don't need it while working people have less and less money even though working people do all the work for the super rich. The system is rigged to benefit the rich--which also causes voter apathy," Mr. M replied.
Claire cringed. "That's totally harsh, as my mom would say'!" she exclaimed.
Justice Forlorn
"What else do you see?" Mr. M asked. "I see a woman in filthty worn-out clothes who looks forlorn, but she wears a crown and balances a sword straight up and down. She resembles the figure of justice, but she isn't looking so good."
"Yeah, that sounds about right. The rich can get away with anything--even murder if they have enough of political power. Also, this realm has the largest prison population in the world. While we have only about 5% of the world's population, our realm has around 25% of the global prison population and also has one of the highest incarceration rates in the world. The for-profit prison industry minimizes labor costs through the extreme exploitation and dehumanization of an incarcerated slave force," Mr. M claimed.
Claire cringed again. "Wow, that's worse than I even imagined, as my father would say," Claire lamented.
Tearing Down the Government
"What else do you see?" Mr. M asked.
"I see a troll standing in front of a crumbling government building," Claire stated.
"That makes sense," Mr. M replied. "Right-wing radicals are destroying the government to shred the social safety net while they give huge tax cuts to billionaires. They're eliminating health care and starving the most vulnerable in this realm--such as children and the old and the disabled. At the same time, they are elimating regulations and gutting agencies that protect the air and water and keep the public safe. They eliminate regulations that keep corporations from destroying the planet through global climate disruption--even though we only have a few years to turn the situation around. What are they but criminals who don't want to be bound by laws or rules that protect the people and the planet?"
"Wow, that's totally heartless, as my mom would say," Claire responded sadly.
Attacking Protesters
"What else do you see?" Mr. M asked.
"I see military forces shooting peaceful protesters," Claire replied.
"That's how the tyrannical ruler in this authoritarian regime controls the masses--which is illegal and prohibited by the constitution in this realm, but the administration won't obey court orders. The king here has invoked the Insurrection Act--even though there is not not an insurrection or a rebellion or an invasion by foreign adversaries anywhere in the realm--and he is claiming that disobeying illegal orders is an act of sedition punishable by death--even though the king himself committed sedition by inciting an insurrection," Mr. M replied.
"That's horrible in the most ironic and obviously imbecilic way imaginable, as my father would say," Claire replied.
The Star: Aquarius
"What else do you see?" Mr. M asked.
"Well, you might not believe this. I see a woman who is pouring water onto the ground from a jug in her left hand and pouring water from a jug into a pond with her right hand. A huge yellow star floats above her head and seven other stars float nearby. She seems to be renewing the earth and refreshing the water, which seems to be an act of love," Claire replied.
"Yes, the yellow star symbolizes a higher awareness and shows that even with all the horror surrounding us, you can still open your heart and love the earth and other people," Mr. M replied.
"Is she bringing the spiritual dimension down into the third dimension through love?" Claire asked.
"Yes, indeed!" Mr M agreed. "If everyone did that every day, most of us would eventually experience the fifth dimension, and our realm would be very different."
Armageddon Missile
"What else do you see?" Mr. M asked.
"I am seeing a huge missile, which appears to have been activated. It looks like it could cause terrible destruction," Claire responded.
"Yes, that is the most horrifying kind of weapon ever created. Used in a war, that type of weapon could destroy all life on the planet," Mr. M lamented. "So you see, we need to bring harmonizing love into our dimension as much as humanly possible--and as soon as humanly possible."
The Magician: Mercury
"What else do you see?" Mr. M asked.
"I see a magician with a sword, a wand, a cup, and a pentacle in front of her on an alter. She seems to be performing a ritual to bring light down into our realm," Claire replied.
"Yes, the sword, the wand, the cup, and the pentacle represent the subtle spiritual elements of Air, Fire, Water, and Earth, as well as the dimensions of Universal Consciousness," Mr. M explained. "The magician is bringing light and harmonizing love from the fifth dimension into the third dimension. Nothing could be more important now. Wouldn't you agree!"
"I couldn't agree more," Claire replied.

Troll: the Knight of Cups
Suite No. 3, Ninth Movement:
ADVENTURES IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST (PART NINE)
Page of Cups
One day the Knight of Cups rode his horse near the ocean. He was lonely and since he was a troll from another planet, he realized that he might never have a loving connection with another being. He loved his horse, of course, and they were friends, but he longed for something more. He was at the age now where back on his own planet, he would get married and have a family, but he began to despair that he would never find a being on this planet who would love him because to humans he appeared old and ugly.
Soon the troll came upon a young woman staring into a golden cup at a fish who seemed to be communicating with her. Even though the troll looked extremely old to humans, he would actually be considered about her age on his own planet. Since he was a Knight of Cups and she was a Page of Cups, the troll decided to strike up a conversation with her. "Hello, dear page!" the troll blurted out. "How are you today?"
"I am fine, thank you," the page responded. "I am just having a conversation with my friend, who is telling me many interesting things."
"What sort of interesting things?" the troll replied. "If you don't mind me asking."
"Right now," the page responded, "the fish is telling me that you are a knight who is famous for many astounding feats of strength and bravery. He is also telling me that you are an alien who has become lonely because you cannot find a connection with another being the way that you would on your own planet. Unfortunately, when you are not wearing your armor, you appear extremely old and hideously ugly to humans and other creatures. Sorry if my friend's candor offends you."
Crestfallen, the troll replied, "No problem, really. We all have to face facts, don't we? Have a great day!" the troll exclaimed as he rode off.
Troll in the Castle Garden
When the troll got back to the castle, he went to the garden to release his sadness and his sense of disappointment. Oddly, the flowers in the garden clung to his armor as if he were a flower magnet. "It's like these flowers love me. How could that be? No doubt, it's because they cannot see me," he sighed.
Faery in Owl's Clover
The troll decided to take a walk in the hills to release his negative feelings. Suddenly he encountered a faery sitting in owl's clover flowers that clung to his armor like the flowers in the castle garden. The faery gazed at him fondly. "She is not a troll or a human. How could she love me?" the troll asked himself as he waved at the faery and continued on his away.
Moon Goddess
It grew dark, but the troll still hadn't released his sadness. A full moon rose above the hills. Suddenly, the Moon Goddess appeared before him on the path. The Goddess opened her arms as if to embrace him. "How could a Moon Goddess love me? Her frequency is so much higher than mine that I feel like an ant in comparison," the troll sighed as the Goddess dissolved in the moonlight.
Exploring the Realm in Spring
The troll decided to explore the hills in springtime. Oddly, despite his sadness, he felt ravished by the beauty of the flowers as well as by a sense of the unity underlying all of creation. "Perhaps this is all I can hope for in this world," he thought to himself, which only made him sadder.
Pink Faery Lanterns and Woodstars
Even stranger, the troll encountered pink faery lanterns in the shape of a human heart. "Is the universe mocking me?" he wondered out loud.
Meeting Mr. Mellifluous in the Enchanted Forest
The troll decided to explore the enchanted forest. Eventually he became tired and decided to rest under a tree for a while. Just as he was about to fall asleep, Mr. Mellifluous touched his arm, "Good to see you, friend. What brings you to the forest?"
The troll responded sleepily, "Mr. M, so good to see you again! I have to be honest with you. As a knight, I have gained respect throughout the realm, but I am experiencing a lingering sadness."
"What is the source of your sadness, my friend?" Mr. M inquired.
Dance of Abundance: Three of Cups (Mercury in Cancer)
"Well, I think it's because I will never be human. I saw some lovely women dancing not long ago, and I knew that they would never like me because I look extremely old and hideously ugly when I am not wearing my armor. I will always just be a strange ugly alien to them and everyone else," the troll replied.
Mr. M pondered for a moment. "There are many ways that we can seem strange to each other. We can seem strange because we are spiritual in a different way than other people. We can seem strange because we have different opinions. We can seem strange because we have unusual abilities," Mr. M replied. "Don't fret. Sooner or later we find peace."
Troll without Armor
"But, really, you should see me without my armor on," the troll complained. "I'm surprised that people haven't arrested me or killed me just for being a freak."
"But people respect you for your great strength and skill as a knight. Believe me," Mr. M responded.
Slaying the Breakers into Pieces
"I have slain many evil, terrifying creatures. That is true," the troll responded. "Recently, for instance, I vanquished the Breakers into Pieces."
"How did you feel after you vanquished them?" Mr. M asked.
"I felt triumphant, but strangely I also felt a great sense of peace," the troll replied.
"Hmmm," Mr. M grunted.
Slaying the Burners
"I have also vanquished the Burners, that horrible fiery demon on his terrible horse, which only lived to burn everything to the ground," the troll boasted.
"How did you feel after you vanquished them?" Mr. M again inquired.
"Again I felt feelings of triumph and peace," the troll replied.
"I think I am beginning to understand," Mr. M mumbled. "Please, continue."
Slaying a Dragon
"I have also slain a huge dragon. I am ten times faster than other creatures, a perk of being an alien," the troll responded.
"I think I get it now," Mr. M replied. "You are gifted with the ability to neutralize dark forces. You not only vanquish dark forces outside of you--at the same time you also vanquish the dark forces inside of you. That is why you feel peace after your victories."
"Yes, maybe so, but that doesn't totally get rid of my sadness," the troll softly lamented.
"I recommend that you talk with the Queen of Wands. She is nearby. She will help you," Mr. M advised.
The Queen of Wands
The troll introduced himself to the Queen of Wands and explained his problem to her. "You are a great knight," the Queen responded. "Let me ask you a question. Do you sometimes feel one with the flowers and the other creatures of the earth?"
"Yes, my Queen," the troll admitted.
"Do you think you can feel one with people?" the Queen inquired.
The troll pondered for a moment. "Yes, I know that it is possible, your Majesty," the troll confessed.
"Then you know that it is not how we appear to others but who we are inside," the Queen responded. "I grant you, many people cannot see beyond appearances or differences, but some people with spiritual insight can see who you really are--even if you might seem strange to them at first.
Ithuriel's Spears in Fiesta Flowers
The Queen continued, "Imagine that you are an unusual but stunning flower in the midst of many other flowers that are all the same as each other," the Queen suggested.
"Yes, your Majesty," the troll replied as he imagined the flowers mixing with each other.
"You are a rare being among many human beings," the Queen explained. "I believe that another being will see who you really are at some point--until then know that you are one with all other creatures of this earth, including human beings--even though humans can be extremely cruel at times. That by itself might be enough to bring peace to you eventually."
"Yes, your Majesty. I will follow your wise advice. Thank you," the troll smiled as he bowed.

Troll: the Knight of Wands
Suite No. 3, Tenth Movement:
ADVENTURES IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST (PART TEN)
King Seditionist
The troll had disobeyed an illegal order to kill potentially innocent people. (Due to the Uniform Code of Military Justice, the troll was obligated to disobey the unlawful order.) The king had issued the kill order, claiming--without any evidence and without due process--that the people he was targeting were drug traffickers. Even if they were suspected of drug trafficking, the troll, as a Knight of Cups, was only duty-bound to arrest them and then let the courts provide them with a fair trial--not to subject them to summary execution, which is a violation of international law. Moreover, drug traffickers, even if found guilty in court, were rarely executed. In other words, the troll had refused to commit murder, but he knew the sociopathic king would send his secret police to arrest him and hang him for sedition, no doubt without a trial. So the troll asked his commanding officer to transfer him secretly to another unit. His commanding officer made sure that he was quickly transferred to another place known as the Realm of the Element of Fire, where he became a Knight of Wands. The troll, however, also realized that the secret police would continue searching for him, so the troll came up with a plan of escape--just in case.
Meanwhile the king continued ordering the murder of drug traffickers who were suspected of smuggling an illicit opioid into the country--even though they were in small boats and would have to travel over a thousand and a half miles to get to the king's realm. The troll also knew that lawmakers and experts in government agencies revealed that the country that the king was blaming for all of the overdoses did not produce the illicit opioid. Nevertheless, the king kept breaking international law while insisting that the blown-apart and/or incinerated victims were drug traffickers who were responsible for the death of many citizens in his realm--always without any evidence. (Many relatives of the victims claimed that the victims were only fishermen.)
The king continued ordering extrajudicial executions without any congressional declaration of war, which would have--in a democratic realm--been prosecuted as a high crime, illegal and unconstitutional and against the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The troll soon suspected that the king was about to provoke a war with the other country--mainly because of its valuable resources. The troll also suspected that the king had a more sinister motivation: the dictators of two authoritarian superpowers, one with over a billion people, and one with many weapons of mass destruction, had threatened to fight against the king if he ordered an invasion--so the king's attack could soon escalate into a devastating world war.
The king had often praised the authoritarian dictators of those two superpowers, so the troll suspected that the king was actually planning behind the scenes with the dictators to start a world war that would result in great destruction. In less than a year, the king had already nullified the constitution and had gutted the legislative branch and had neutered the judiciary by ignoring numerous judicial orders. The troll, in other words, suspected that the king and his dictator friends were secretly planning to start a war in order to erradicate democracy completely from the world so that together they could establish a fascist global oligarchy where they controlled all the wealth and power. If that happened, the dictators would no doubt assassinate the narcissistic king, who had never really cared about who or what he destroyed and always only acted on his own behalf to gain more wealth and power. After disposing of the king, the dictators of the superpowers could then split up the realm and rule with iron fists. Either that, or the king would assassinate the other dictators and accumulate as much of their wealth and power as possible. Either way, the scheme would end up as a treacherous game of deceit that would leave the realm in ruins and only benefit a very few while countless people suffered and died.
ICY Military Force
Soon the king, in an effort to establish a fascist state, sent military and paramilitary forces to police the masses. (The Queen had years ago made the troll a knight, but he might nevertheless be considered an "illegal alien" by a brutal paramilitary force that showed little consideration for a person's actual status.)
Concentration Camp for Dissidents and Knights
Also the king had set up concentration camps specifically for dissidents and for knights who still attempted to maintain law and order in the realm. Eventually many heroic dissidents and valiant knights vanished, never to be seen again.
The troll's commanding officer agreed that they should try to escape or form an underground resistance group. Realizing that without his armor he would probably soon be arrested as an illegal alien and eventually identified as a seditionist, the troll chose to escape to the enchanted forest.
Mr. Frog by the Stream
As he hiked through the forest, the troll soon found a frog croaking near a stream. The troll, who had traveled throughout the galaxy, heard a pattern in the croaking that resembled the language of an amphibian race on a distant planet. After being abducted from his own planet by Reptilian aliens and forced into military service, the troll had learned the languages of many different species, so he thought that he might be able to communicate with the frog. The troll croaked in the amphibian language until the frog understood some of what he was saying. The frog was saying that the troll was welcome in the frog's domain, but he would have to survive by eating a lot of bugs and spending a lot of time under water. The troll considered the prospect of living like a frog but eventually became repulsed by the idea of eating bugs all the time to stay alive, so with a croak he thanked the frog and continued on his way.
Mr. Goat in the Flowers
Soon the troll encountered a goat bleating in a field of poppies and lupine flowers. The troll had learned the bleating language from a goat-like species on a nearby planet, so he tried speaking in the goat language to see what would happen. The goat looked at him with curiosity and then started bleating again. As far as the troll could tell, the goat was saying something like this: "You look kind of like goat, but you don't walk on all four legs, and you don't have horns, but you do have an opposable thumb like a human, so you can use weapons to protect the herd. You're more than welcome to stay with us." The troll considered the proposal, but remembered that goats establish a pecking order, and the male goats like to fight each other to gain greater respect and dominance. The troll thanked the goat with a few bleats and continued on his way.
Illegal Alien
"Hmmm, I guess I do look a little like a goat, which is probably one reason that I frighten humans. I wonder if I'll ever find a suitable species for me?" he wondered out loud.
Mr. Wild Pig
Soon the troll encountered a wild pig, who grunted and growled and squealed and screamed at him. The troll had learned pig language on another planet, so he wasn't disturbed by the growls and squeals and screams. The troll asked the wild pig if he could join its sounder (which is what a group of wild pigs is called). Eventually, the troll understood what the wild pig was saying. It was difficult to understand because the language was quite different from the one he had learned on the other planet. It sounded like the wild pig was saying, "You kind of resemble a wild pig, but you are different in ways I've never seen before. I would like to invite you into our group, but you look a bit too much like a human. It's nothing personal. It's just that humans have treated us very badly over the years."
The troll replied with grunts and growls, "I totally understand. Have a good day, my friend."
Mr. Bobcat
Soon, the troll encountered a bobcat. The troll had become familiar with the bobcat language on another planet and was ready to hear an assortment of snorts and growls and strange barking sounds and eerie screams and screeches. He asked the bobcat if he would like some company. The bobcat replied, "I am essentially a loner. I am a solitary creature who hunts alone. Thanks for the offer, even though I would never hunt with another creature."
The troll thanked the bobcat for his time and continued on his way.
Mr. Brown Bear
Soon the troll encountered a brown bear. He also knew bear language and was prepared to hear grunts, strange jaw-popping sounds, huffing, growls, and the occasional roar. This was a hard language to learn, especially because of the jaw-popping, huffing, and roaring, but the troll tried to communicate with the bear anyway. He asked the bear if they could hang out together. The bear replied, "The adult male bear's social interactions are limited to mating and establishing dominance hierarchies, especially when food is scarce. In other words, I might instinctually try to establish dominance over you, which might result in your death by mauling, but thanks for asking. I've never heard a human-like creature speak my language before, and I've sometimes wondered what it be like to have a friend."
"No problem. I actually learned your language on another planet," the troll replied.
"You mean there is life on other planets?" the bear asked.
"More than you might think," the troll replied as he smiled.
Mr. Serial Killer
The troll decided to find a cave where he could stay for the night. As he explored the cave, he suddenly encountered a monster who apparently kept human skulls as trophies. "Oh, sorry friend, I didn't mean to intrude into your territory. I was just looking for a place to stay for the night," the troll claimed as he smiled.
The monster smiled but suddenly attacked the troll, who hit the monster in the shins with his club and punched him in the nose. The monster howled but soon settled down. "You're a pretty good fighter. We could work together, I think. We could be as thick as thieves. We could be a serial killer team!" the monster blurted out. "We could beat people to death and cut off their heads. Who cares about justice anymore? Sure, like you, I have committed crimes--but we have gotten away with all of them, unlike most people. We could experience some high times together!"
"That's not the way I roll," the troll replied. "I am not a serial killer, especially not one, like the king, who pretends that he is working for a higher good of everyone. Even though I'm not wearing any armor, I am a knight, and I live by a code of honor."
"You are a freak! Nobody else would ever want to hang out with you!" the monster blurted out. "We could have been friends, but now you'll have to fight me if you want to leave here alive! I really can't allow anyone else to know where I live."
The troll smashed the monster's knee with his club. Then with his club he jabbed the monster in the throat. Then he brought his club down as hard as he could on the serial killer's head. The troll growled in bobcat language, "Sorry. I'm just not a serial killer, but as a knight I must at all times maintain justice for a higher good. Extremely dangerous creatures like you must experience justice as a way to create balance for the highest good of society."
The troll dragged the monster out of the cave and spent the rest of the night surrounded by human skulls.
Ogre Knight
The troll continued his journey in the morning. He soon encountered an ogre dressed in golden armor. "You look familiar. I believe we've met before," the troll stated.
"Yeah, you are the only creature who has ever defeated me. I am going to regain my title as the greatest warrior on Earth. Time for you to die!" the ogre exclaimed.
"You are the most prideful creature I've ever met!" the troll blurted out. Then he smashed the ogre's foot with his club and jabbed him between the eyes and finally cracked open his skull. The ogre looked surprised as he toppled over.
"Too bad that you didn't remember that I'm from a different planet," the troll growled in bear language.
Mr. Salacious
The troll continued his journey and suddenly encountered a lion with human hands. "Oh, great! I've met you before too. I don't think I liked you much the first time I met you!" the troll exclaimed.
"Now, now, what are you rambling on about?" the lion-man replied. "A lot of powerful people prefer females on the younger side. It's only natural. Sometimes I even like trolls." With hands extended, the lion-man approached the troll.
"Maybe so, but most people wouldn't agree that rape is ever acceptable," the troll responded as he broke the lion-man's hands and clubbed his elbows and smashed his nose. "Rape stems from the need for dominance and control, not from love. Rape is a way to gain power over another person. For your own good, I hope we never meet again. I have dispatched many beasts who were much nicer than you!" the troll exclaimed in goat language as the salacious one slouched away and collapsed, still whimpering.
King Genius Loci
The troll climbed up a mountain to avoid encounters with any more sociopathic creatures. Soon he encountered a king sitting on a rock. "Greetings, great King," the troll stated. "May I ask why you are here?"
"Certainly," the King replied. "I am King Genius Loci, which means 'Spirit of Place' in your language. I rule the mountains. I'm surprised that you can see me. Most people can't."
"I am an alien from another planet. I am more psychic than most humans," the troll replied. "I have just vanquished three sociopathic creatures in the forest below."
"Yes, troublesome creatures they are indeed. How did you get here," the King asked.
"I was kidnapped from my planet by Reptilian aliens and forced to serve them as a soldier as they raided other planets to exhaust their resources. The Reptilians are here now, but I escaped from them and became a knight in a realm near us," the troll replied. "I am still a knight but I am not now wearing armor."
"I see," the King replied.
Pounding Stone with Pestles
The King continued, "If you stay, you will find signs of man's inhumanity to man. For instance, you will eventually find pounding stones in abandoned village sites. A genocide occurred here not long ago. With human beings, a terrible need for power and dominance causes much death and destruction. Humans just keep finding reasons to kill each other in huge numbers, something that animals never do. It's such a shame that people kill each other because of greed and the need for power and control. It never seems to end. Such a shame. But you are not human. Strangely, even though you are an alien, I can still see your light. In fact, you seem a lot more enlightened than humans. You realize that we must bring justice to those who steal and murder and cause unjustified wars and commit genocides. They must be stopped. If you see me, you must also know the oneness of everything in my domain."
"Yes, of course, your Highness," the troll replied.
Ithuriel's Spears Blooming within Poison Oak
The King continued, "You are like a stunning flower that has bloomed within poison oak. People who cannot see beyond appearances might consider you extremely old and hideously ugly, but those with spirit vision will see you as a beautiful soul who understands the unity underlying all of creation. You work for the integrity of all creatures and fight for justice. You may stay here. I will protect you as long as you remain in my domain."
"Thank you, your Highness," the troll replied as he bowed.
