Reading a Faery Tale
ADVENTURES IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST, PART ONE
Valiant Knight Riding a Wolf into Battle
One day Claire decided to read a faery tale--because her mom often likened her to a faery. The faery tale that she read was about a valiant knight riding a wolf into battle. "Wow, he looks so brave and fierce. I wonder what he is fighting for?" she thought.

Criminal Alien
Claire turned the page and noticed a picture entitled "Criminal Alien." Then she read about how aliens had taken over the world. To create a human slave labor force who would work for free, the rulers deployed an army of masked aliens to kidnap citizens off the street and send them to concentration camps. The aliens cut government funding for programs that provide food and health care--in order to starve and kill off the elderly and the disabled and the mentally ill and children and all other humans who did not immediately benefit the alien master race. The alien rulers allowed corporations to continue operating but forced the companies to give large "donations" to the master race. Many humans became frightened or angry or depressed, so the aliens used weaponized drones to kill vocal critics and protesters. Humans soon realized that the aliens planned to eliminate all dissidents and to exhaust people and resources as quickly as possible for their own benefit. Many humans considered the aliens deadly criminals and decided to band together to confront them. "These criminal aliens are such horrible creatures, and this story is so scary and dark. I should go outside to play," Claire whispered to herself.

Pretending to be a Kitty
Claire slid old socks over her hands so that they would feel more like paws. Then she went outside and pretended to be a kitty.

Toad in its Home
Soon Claire found a toad in a hollowed-out tree root. "Hello, old toad. How are you today?"
The toad croaked a few times. "So you need more water?" Claire replied. "Let me get the hose." Claire turned on the faucet and sprayed the toad, who croaked several times and disappeared back into the root.

Mr. Mellifluous
When the toad vanished, Claire sighed. She had grown tired of the backyard, so she opened the gate and strolled on a path into the forest next to the house. Soon she encountered a little man on a log. Swallowtail faeries fluttered back and forth between tiger lilies above him. "Who are you, if I may ask," Claire inquired.
"I am Mr. Mellifluous, young lady," he replied. "I'm glad you're here. Dark forces are invading the enchanted forest. We need your help!"
"At your service," she responded as she curtsied.
"Please continue on the path. Don't worry. Faeries and good witches and angels will help you if you need it," Mr. Mellifluous assured her.
"Thank you, kind sir," she replied. "See you later!" she shouted as she skipped down the trail.

Son of a Dark Witch
Soon Claire encountered a troll sitting next to a river.
"Hello, kind sir. Who are you if I may ask?" Claire inquired as she curtsied.
"Hello, young lady. I am Awesome, son of the dark witch of the forest," he replied.
"Are you a dark force?" Claire inquired.
"Naw, I guess I'm kind of a disappointment to my mom. I would rather hang out by the stream with the flowers and birds than cause chaos like her," Awesome replied. "If you want to find my mom, just keep following this path."
"Thank you. Have a great day!" Claire exclaimed.

Dark, Hungry Witch
Soon Claire encountered a dark witch next to the trail. "Hello, my lady. How are you today?" Claire inquired.
"I am well, thank you. Would you like some candy, dear child?" the witch asked.
"Oh, yes! You are so kind!" Claire blurted out.
"Yes. It's good to eat," the witch smiled as she carefully looked Claire over. "Follow me."

Forest Faery
Then a faery suddenly appeared. "Do not follow that terrible witch! She will fatten you up. Then she will eat you," the faery claimed. "I need to get some help for you. I'll be back in a few moments." The faery quickly vanished into the forest.

Knight of Swords
The dark witch extended her hand toward Claire, who hesitated to take it. "If you are afraid to follow me, please wait here, and I'll be right back. Don't move, dear child." Soon the witch came back with a handful of candy. "Here, my child, eat some of this delicious candy."
"Thank you, kind lady!" Claire exclaimed.
As Claire was enjoying the candy, the faery found a brave knight. After the faery told the knight what the witch was planning, the knight galloped off toward the witch's part of the forest with his sword held high.

Cute Bunny
Soon the knight found the witch, and he threatened to cut off her head. Unfortunately for Claire, the dark witch turned the knight into a cute bunny.
"Don't worry about him, dear child. He's all right. Keep enjoying your sweet candy. I'll deal with him later," the witch smiled.
"Oh yes. Thank you, kind lady!" Claire exclaimed. As Claire devoured the candy, she forgot that she should not trust the witch.

Good Witch
Suddenly a beautiful witch appeared. "Hide, dear child! Hide where the dark witch cannot find you! I will soon take care of her!"

Big, Ugly Fly
As the dark witch was rushing, arms flailing, toward her, the good witch cast a spell and turned the dark witch into a big, ugly fly. "That should take care of her, at least for awhile," the good witch smiled as she disappeared into the forest.

Page of Cups
As Claire finished eating the candy, the fly buzzed away. Then Claire continued on the path until she reached the ocean. Eventually, Claire encountered a young girl gazing at a blue fish in a golden cup.
"Hello, friend. Who are you, and what are you doing if I may ask?"
"Oh, hello. I am the Page of Cups. I am listening to the fish in the cup. He is telling me what is about to happen next. You are going to encounter a prince riding a dragon. Beware, my friend, for he is a very bad boy," the page stated and then silently gazed into the cup again.
Claire didn't want to disturb the page again, so she curtsied and wandered down to the seashore by herself.

Hinderers
Soon Claire encountered a young prince riding on the back of a scary dragon. The prince taunted, "You are in my territory now. You must do what I say, or my dragon will tear you apart and eat you!"
Claire turned and galloped as fast as she could toward a field of flowers near a stream. Suddenly the prince and the dragon were hovering above her. "You cannot escape from me, silly girl! My dragon is going to eat you!" the boy prince snarled.

Rainbow Angel
As soon as Claire reached the flowers, a Rainbow Angel appeared. "Do not fret, child. I will take care of this horrible boy and his nasty dragon!"

Wild Turkey
The Angel cast a spell and turned the dragon into a turkey, which glided down to the stream. As the prince crashed onto rocks in the stream, his golden crown fell off. Then the boy-prince dragged himself out of the water and staggered away. "Wow, good to be friends with the right people and the right faeries and witches and angels!" Claire exclaimed.

Faery in the Garden
ADVENTURES IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST (PART TWO)
Alien Troll
Claire loved to smell the roses and chase the butterflies in the garden, but after her experience in the enchanted forest, she felt the urge to explore the entire world. So she put on her faery wings and pretended to fly around the backyard. As she played, she pushed open the gate and flew down the sidewalk through her neighborhood. Soon she encountered a troll ambling towards her. "How are you, kind sir?" Claire asked him.
"Okay, I guess," the troll grumbled.
"Are you new to the neighborhood?" Claire politely inquired.
"Yeah. If you really want to know, I was kidnapped from my planet by the alien Reptilians and forced to become a soldier in their army. I just got so sick of it that I went AWOL. I was hoping that I could blend in with your species since we do have similar characteristics. I am actually a very young troll, comparable to you in age. In troll years, I am a child, so really I shouldn't be a soldier in their army anyway. I hate being a soldier. Worst of all, it's always the same when they invade a planet like yours. The Reptilians follow a playbook. Let me explain. Reptilians can shapeshift, so they take on the physical form of the dominant species of the planet and infiltrate the government and the large businesses. Usually the Reptilians 'disappear' the rulers and the political leaders and the most powerful members of the business class and take on their physical form to fool the other beings of the planet. That is how they begin taking over every planet they invade," the troll explained.
"Oh my goodness, is that happening here?" Claire asked.
"Yes, and it gets worse. Once the Reptilians get those who have shapeshifted into positions of power, they crash the economy and ignore or overturn laws and policies and norms, and they tear up whatever document functions as a constitution or a governmental body of law. Once the Reptilians establish authoritarian rule, they choose a supreme leader who wields absolute power. The Reptilians then unravel the social safety net and eliminate crucial freedoms like the freedom of speech and the freedom to assemble in protest. They normalize extremism and create a culture of cruelty and violence and lawlessness. Soon, without due process the alien Reptilians begin to target members of vulnerable groups and kidnap them and send them to concentrations camps to serve as a slave force for the master race. Then Reptilians eliminate dissidents through drone attacks and other forms of extrajudicial execution. They neuter every branch of government, and they make sure to weaponize the department of justice--or whatever the beings of the planet call it. The supreme ruler starts wars to exhaust the resources of other countries--without the approval of whatever functions as a check on power in the government, such as a legislative branch or a judicial branch. Worst of all, the Reptilians start a war on the country they rule and send soldiers like me to maintain control of the population, and often we have to resort to violence. All the while, the Reptilians brainwash the dominant species and cause divisiveness and fear and hatred and violence through whatever forms of media exist on the planet. As long as they keep the indigenous beings of a planet divided and fighting each other, those beings don't go after the alien rulers, who always end up exhausting the resources and the beings of the planet before flying away in their spaceships."
"Yeah, I think something like that must be happening here. My mom and dad complain about it all the time," Claire frowned.
"Yes, and they won't stop until they have absolute power and steal all of the wealth of the planet," the troll lamented. "I just can't be part of their rapaciousness and heartlessness and cruelty anymore."
"Maybe we should escape to the enchanted forest!" Claire exclaimed.
"Yeah, that might be fun. Let's go!" the troll blurted out as he smiled.

A question suddenly popped into Claire's head. "How do you know my language?" she asked the troll.
"Trolls can learn other languages very quickly. I think I must know hundreds if not thousands of languages by now," the troll replied. "I hope that you can understand me all right."
"Oh, yes, you speak very clearly. I think that trolls are pretty amazing!" she exclaimed.
Suddenly as they strolled through the enchanted forest, they came upon pink flowers that seemed to glow. "I love these flowers!" the troll blurted out. "What are they called?"
"Pink faery lanterns. I love them too. I wish I could be a faery and always light my way with them," Claire replied.

The frog croaked a few times, and a golden balanced cross floated out of its mouth. "The equal-armed cross, which represents harmony and balance and integration, is a symbol that has existed on many planets for thousands of years," the troll stated.
"Is that true?" Claire asked the frog. In a second or two, the frog croaked a few more times, and another golden balanced cross floated out of its mouth.

After the frog hopped away, they continued on the path, and soon they encountered faeries who seemed to be tending strange flowers that Claire had never seen before. "Can you see those faeries?" Claire quietly asked the troll.
"Yes, trolls are very psychic," the troll whispered. "We can see nature spirits clearly in our mind's eye."
"Strangely our species are very similar even though we have evolved on different planets," she responded as she smiled.
"Yes, I think we have more in common than most aliens from different planets do," the troll agreed.
"I'm glad I've met you," Claire replied.

Turning into a Faery

Suddenly Claire wanted to be a faery. "Lovely faeries." She shouted. "Is there someone in your flock who can turn me into a faery?"
"Why, yes," one of the faeries responded. "Follow me. I will guide you to the Queen of Faery Land."
When they reached the faery village, Claire was introduced to the Queen. "Nice to meet you, your Majesty. I am hoping that you will grant me a wish," Claire calmly stated.
"What is your wish, dear child?" the Queen politely inquired.
"I wish to become a faery like you. Can you fulfill my wish, my Queen, or am I asking too much? I don't want to cause any trouble," Claire stated.
"I can tell that you are a bold child and would become a bold faery. Just what we need here in the enchanted forest!" The Queen suddenly held a wand over Claire's head. Sparkles fell all around Claire, and suddenly she had wings. She could fly!

Playing with Other Faeries

Soon Claire was playing with other faeries. They flew round and round the head of a gnome.
"I was so happy to hear that you are a faery that I put on two hats today," the gnome shouted up at Claire.
"Is that you, Mr. Mellifluous!?" Claire blurted out.
"Yes!"
"Glad to see you again!" Claire waved and smiled and flew off into the enchanted forest. The troll on the ground ran as fast as he could to keep up with her.

"I am the most devoted follower of the greatest king who has ever lived. I tell everyone I meet what our beloved king has proclaimed. Unfortunately, if you don't believe the king, my creature here and I will have to devour you!"
Suddenly the troll caught up to Claire. "You, sir, trumpet nothing but lies. You must leave my friend alone!" Then the troll swung his large club and knocked the liar's trumpet out of his hand. Next he brought his club down on the creature's foot. The creature howled and limped off with the liar still on its back.
"How did you get here so fast?" Claire asked the troll.
"Trolls can run very fast--much faster than humans," the troll replied.
"You just keep impressing me more and more every minute," Claire claimed as she grinned.

Eventually Claire got tired and decided to rest. As soon as she landed on the ground, an ogre appeared.
"You are in my territory now and you must bow down to me and follow all of my commands! I am the best warrior on this planet!"
The troll, who was nearby, rushed up to the ogre and smashed the ogre's knee with his club. Then the troll knocked the ogre's swords out of his hands. Then the troll whacked the side of the ogre's head, stunning the ogre into submission. "Unfortunately for you, I am from a different planet," the troll chuckled.
"Wow, that was super impressive!" Claire exclaimed.
"A walk on the beach, my friend, a walk on the beach," the troll replied.

Eventually Claire got tired and decided to rest. As soon as she landed on the ground, a lion with a man's hands approached. "Ummm, such a cute little faery. So nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too, kind sir," Claire replied.
"Dear child, you must be hungry. I have fine food and sweet candy for you. After we dine, you can dress up in the most opulent clothes you've ever seen," the lion-man claimed as he reached for her.
The troll rushed up to the lion-man and whacked his fingers. Then he smashed the lion-man's nose with his club. "Keep your filthy hands off her!" the troll yelled.
The lion-man whimpered and slouched away.
"Thank you so much!" Claire exclaimed.

And once again the troll ran as fast as he could to keep up.
And once again Claire eventually got tired and decided to rest. As soon as she landed on the ground, a fiery demon on a fiery horse galloped towards her. "I burn everything to the ground--even cute little faeries like you!" the fiery demon boasted.
"Uh-oh, this can't be good," Claire muttered to herself.
The troll suddenly caught up with Claire. "I don't know how to stop this demon!" the troll yelled. "He would burn up my club and me with it if I tried to fight him!

"Whew! That was a close one!" Claire exclaimed.
"Yeah, I've never seen such crazy creatures like that before. Thank goodness that the salamander showed up," the troll mused as the salamander lumbered away.

"No worries! It has been my honor," the troll replied.
"I'm going to find a safe, quiet place by the sea for both of us," Claire promised. "It might take awhile."

Suddenly Claire noticed a queen sitting on her throne next to the water. After she landed on the beach near the throne, she curtsied and addressed the queen. "Great Queen, it is so nice to meet you. You look so lovely today. I have come here because I have a question for you," Claire boldly stated.
"Yes, dear child, please ask your question," the Queen replied.
"I have a wonderful friend who is trying to escape from tyranny. He is brave as a knight and has saved me many times. I want to know how I can help him," Claire responded.
"Dear child, come over here and gaze into my cup. Together we will find the answer to your question," the Queen responded.

"Why, yes, that is the perfect answer," the Queen responded. "I shall make him a knight as soon as he arrives."
The troll soon appeared near the throne. "My dear brave soul," the Queen said to the troll. "I have heard great things about you. I shall dub you 'Knight of the Realm of the Water Element."
"It would be a great honor to serve thee, my Queen," the troll replied as he kneeled before the Queen.
After the ceremony was over, Claire hugged the troll and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I am so happy for you!" she blurted out. "This is the perfect place for you. I feel that I must continue my adventure, however. Don't worry--I promise that I'll be careful." The troll bowed and kissed her hand.
The troll served the realm valiantly for many years. He had found his happy place at last.

Vision
ADVENTURES IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST (PART THREE)
Ghost in the Wild
Continuing her adventure, Claire flew above the enchanted forest and noticed a man below sitting under a tree. Curious, she spiraled down to chat with him. He appeared to be in some kind of trance, but Claire introduced herself to him anyway. "Hello, kind sir. My name is Claire. If I may ask, what are you doing?"
"I am gazing into a spiritual realm," the man replied.
"What are you seeing," Claire asked.
"Right now, I am seeing a hand in a cloud holding out a golden cup to me. Three other cups stand in a row on the ground nearby. I have had the same vision several times. The Queen of Cups, after I first had the vision, told me that I had found a holy grail. She also explained that grails exist in a subtle spiritual dimension, not in this realm, which is why very few people have found one. The grail has miraculous healing powers, sometimes even providing eternal youth or infinite abundance. I am trying to figure out why I keep seeing these golden cups," the man replied.
"How can you see them if they're not here in this world?" Claire asked.
"That's kind of a long story," the man responded. "Fortunately or unfortunately I used to live in another realm. I was a vocal dissident, and for political reasons, the king had me locked up in a Left-Wing Lunatic Asylum, where doctors dosed me with hallucinogenic drugs, no doubt with the intention of driving me insane, but instead the drugs opened up my psychic senses, so now I envision spiritual symbols, and I also see and hear ghosts and other spiritual entities. In fact, about an hour ago I saw a ghost as I was hiking through the forest. I wouldn't encourage anyone to take psychedelic drugs because one dose can drive a sensitive person insane, but fortunately, in my case, the drugs had a positive effect."
"That's amazing! I wish I could do that without taking any psycho drugs--or whatever you call them. What else have you seen?" Claire asked.

Ghost Haunting a Castle
Well, the other day, as I was strolling through the castle, I noticed a woman wandering down a hallway. I followed her for a few feet, and then she suddenly vanished."
"Wow! Cool! Do you think her spirit might be trapped in this world for some reason?" Claire inquired.
"Well, I'm pretty sure that there is more than one reason that spirits remain earth bound," the man replied. "Some ghosts might have an overwhelming sense of guilt or regret. Some might feel compelled to resolve a problem. Some might remain in their etheric body as a ghost because they fear damnation. Some might not know they are dead. Some might not believe in a life after death and get stuck on the earth plane. There are probably as many reasons as there are ghosts. Fear and regret are probably the main reasons."
"This is really, really fascinating. What else have you seen?" Claire inquired.

Ghost of a Soldier
Well, let's see. About two weeks ago, I saw a soldier standing on a deserted battlefield with a bloody bandage around his head. He gazed into the distance as if watching a battle, and suddenly he just disappeared.
"Whoa, really? That must have seemed pretty weird. Have you seen anything else?" Claire inquired.
"It is startling to see someone who is there one minute and then suddenly vanishes like a mist," the man replied. "And yes, I have experienced other things that are just as weird--if not more so."

Ghost Singing Arias next to a Creek
"Last month, my friend and I journeyed out to the banks of a river and rested for awhile. My friend read out loud from a book, and I sat quietly and listened. Suddenly I heard a man singing a song with a truly masterful voice--right there in the middle of the forest. I said "that's amazing" several times, but my friend probably thought that I was talking about the story that she was reading out loud to me. The singer belted out one song after another, and he seemed to be near us on the other side of the creek, but I couldn't see him anywhere. After eight arias, he stopped.
A minute or so later, I blurted out, "Wasn't that music amazing? He sounded like a professional opera singer, if not better."
"What music? I haven't heard any music while we've been here," my friend replied in disbelief.
"That's impossible! How could that be?" I exclaimed. "He sounded like an angel, and he was so loud that I thought he was just on the other side of the creek. I looked all around, but I didn't see him anywhere, which I thought was a bit odd."
"I haven't heard any music here or near any other body of water," my friend angrily replied. Then she gave me a strange look. I haven't seen her since that day. I might have lost her as a friend."
"That must be confusing and frustrating for you. Have you seen or heard anything else?" Claire inquired.

Gnomes by the Path
"Well, yes, I have encountered elementals like faeries and gnomes. Some seemed extraordinarily real, but I have concluded that when I actually sense a subtle spiritual force, my subconscious mind presents an image of the invisible force to my imagination as a being of some kind. In other words, I might perceive an elemental or an angel or a demon--usually a form that resembles a human being in some way. They can look pretty strange. The other day, I saw a huge spider with a human head lumbering around in the woods. You see, the subconscious mind naturally anthropomorphizes to enable the conscious mind to understand what the psychic senses are perceiving."
"Wow, that sounds really complicated, but I think I understand. Have you perceived anything else?" Claire inquired.

Loving Spirit of Place
"Well, you might not believe this. I have sensed overarching spirits of place in nature, or what the Romans referred to as 'genius loci,'" he replied. "All of these overarching spirits are different. They are usually associated with units of nature such as mountains or rivers or forests. Some seem angry or resentful or even furious--especially if people have damaged their realm in any way. Others in more remote areas seem loving and welcoming, especially in remote areas that contain abandoned Native American village sites. My theory is that shamans developed a kind of spiritual reciprocity through a rapport with the spirit of place. In other words, the indigenous people showed love and reverence for both the spirit and the place--a reverence and love that continues to echo through time."
"Well, that is a bit hard to believe. I don't think many people would believe it, but I do. I find all this very interesting. What else have you experienced?" Claire inquired.

Flower Faery
The man continued, "Let's see. I mentioned faeries. I think that each one is the overarching spirit of a particular species. I have envisioned them usually with a species of flowers or trees. They seem to be protecting them or caring for them or stimulating their growth in some way. In other words, they are like a spirit of place, but instead they are the overarching spirit of a specific species."
"Wow, that's very cool. As you can see, kind sir, I am now a faery, but I was once human--a faery transformed me. I feel a connection with all species, not just one, perhaps because I was once human. I'm curious, what else have you experienced?" Claire asked politely.

Bees in the Flowers
"Please remember that it is just as important to appreciate the physical forms within nature," he replied. "It's just as important to love the flowers and trees and streams and mountains. They are part of many different webs that form one complex web of all creation. I am convinced that as humans we are here to show reverence for each web and to protect them and care for them. The physical side of nature is just as important as the spiritual side of nature, in other words."
"Oh, I totally agree," Claire declared as she gazed at bees in the flowers. "But can you share anything else that you have perceived with your psychic senses?" Claire asked politely.

Venus in the Flowers
"Well, okay," the man responded. "I have perceived Gods and Goddesses--extremely intelligent and powerful spiritual beings that make humans seem like amoebas in comparison. Not long ago, I encountered the Goddess Venus. She told me that she is an essential part of a magical triangle formed by the seventh, eighth, and ninth Emanations of the Tree of Life. She is a Goddess of love and beauty and nature who embodies the diverse life forces within creation, the Many within the One. In the sixth Emanation of the Sun, we experience the light which is the source of all life on earth. In the seventh Emanation of Victory, Venus holds up a prism that breaks up the Sun's intense light into many colors. In other words, the Emanation of Venus is the beginning of the magical triangle. Now imagine that the colors represent different life forces. Next, in the eighth Emanation on the Tree of Life, the God Mercury enables us to know the qualities and characteristics of the spiritual life forces through our intellect. Then, as we move down the planes, within the Ninth Emanation we can manifest forms that represent the life forces in our imagination--and the life forces can become real to us, so real in fact that they can become capable of independent action. That is how shamans and magicians work with the subtle spiritual life forces in this realm. But always remember that you can choose to work with a powerful God or Savior who benefits humanity or with a huge spider with a human head who harms people on a spiritual level but eventually comes back to bite you. That is why foolish people should never work with magic."
"Wow, as my mom would say, that is a lot to process, but I think I kind of understand it," Claire mused. "Can you share anything else that you have perceived with your psychic senses?" Claire asked politely.
Pan in the Flowers
"Yes, Venus is a Goddess who represents the divine feminine, but there are Gods who reveal the divine masculine and also personify the powerful life forces within nature. The God Pan is one who represents the potency of the life forces as they manifest on the earth. We are lucky that shamans and magicians in cultures throughout the world have created pantheons of Gods and Goddesses that we now include as archetypes of Universal Consciousness on the modern Tree of Life. Remember that the spiritual force is real, but the form that we fashion in our imagination is a creation of the created, a symbolic representation made by people in different cultures throughout human history to help us understand the forces, in other words. For instance, a symbolic representation of the Christ force is not more real in one culture than it is in any other culture, but much destruction and death have occurred because people believe that their symbolic representation of the Christ force is the only true one. Unfortunately, many people in power force us to remain ignorant of the pantheons of Gods and Goddesses that represent the most powerful life forces within Universal Consciousness."
"I think it's better to remain open to the way people in other cultures have chosen to represent the dimensions of God," Claire agreed. "Please, kind sir, can you share anything else?"

Jupiter in the Flowers
"One day I had a vision of Jupiter, the Father of the Gods. Jupiter reveals the incorruptible gold of the spirit and the harmony, abundance, and magnificence of the spiritual side of nature. I realize now that the four golden cups in my vision today are associated with the fourth Emanation of Jupiter on the Tree of Life known as Mercy, also known as Gedulah, or Glory--the Glory referenced at the end of the Lord's Prayer. Through the God Jupiter, you can heal yourself and others and live as an eternal child and experience infinite inner abundance and know the incorruptible gold of the spirit. I think I understand the meaning of my vision of the holy grail now. Funny how different spiritual experiences often eventually reveal how they are related--you can meet Jupiter one day and then another day have a vision of four golden cups."
"Oh, that is both wonderful and amazing," Claire agreed. "Please, kind sir, can you share anything else?"

King with Sluggish Justices
"Yeah, maybe one more thing," he replied. "Not all spiritual experiences are pleasant. The other day I saw a king surrounded by six slug-like creatures. I was puzzled, but they turned out to be the corrupt, sycophantic supreme court justices who are destroying a constitution that they had vowed to protect and defend. When I saw the justices, I couldn't help but 'see' their darkness in my imagination. I don't try to see the darkness in other people. Usually it just happens."
"That does sound unpleasant," Claire admitted. "But it might be beneficial for you in the long run."
"You're right. I shouldn't complain," the man chuckled.
"Thank you, kind sir, for everything that you have shared with me today!" Claire blurted out.
"My pleasure, dear child," the man said warmly as he smiled.
"Bye! Thanks again!" Claire shouted as she flew away.

Knight of Pentacles
Claire searched for her friend the troll (now a knight) because she wanted to tell him everything the kind man had told her. Soon she saw a knight in black armor sitting on a horse next to a recently plowed field. She spiraled down to him and noticed that he seemed to be gazing at a golden pentacle that he held in his right hand.
"Hello, kind knight, I'm hoping that you might help me find a friend, who is also a knight."
"What is his name?" the knight asked.
"I always just call him 'Troll.' He is a knight who resides by the sea."
"Oh, yes, I have heard of him. He has established quite a reputation because of his courage and skill. He still lives by the sea--as far as I know."
"Oh, good, I will look for him there, but if you don't mind, can you tell me why you were staring at that pentacle in your hand?"
"Certainly," the knight replied. "The pentacle reveals the subtle elements within a golden circle, which symbolizes the unity of the elements within eternity. As you probably already know, the elements represent the triplicities of Earth, Air, Water, and Fire and their ruling planets as well as the element of aether, or Spirit, in other words, all the dimensions of Universal Consciousness as they manifest in the natural world. I was just wondering if we are going to have a good harvest this year. I get the feeling that we are."
"I wish you and your community only the best. Bye! Thank you!" Claire shouted as she flew away.

Knight of Cups
Eventually Claire found the troll on his horse by a stream. She waved her hand in front of his face, but he remained mesmerized by his golden cup. Suddenly the troll snapped out of it. "Claire!" he blurted out. "What brings you here?"
"I just wanted you to know that I had a kind man who told me about many of his spiritual experiences. When I met him, he was staring into a spirit realm at a golden cup floating in a cloud in front of him, a little like you staring at the golden cup in your hand."
"Funny you should mention that. I have visions when I gaze at my cup."
"What a coincidence!" What are you seeing?" Claire inquired.

Vision of Abundance
"I was having a vision of abundance and harmony and magnificence, a vision of golden cups and plates on a white tablecloth. One cup seemed to have a golden crown with a balanced cross on top of it."
"That's lovely!" Claire exclaimed. "What else have you envisioned?"

Inner Sanctum
"I recently had a vision of the inner sanctum of a temple. A brilliant sun floated inside the room. My personality completely disappeared, and I felt a profound sense of unity and eternity, like I was in touch with the Source of all creation."
"That's so beautiful!" Claire exclaimed. "Sounds like you have been gazing into a holy grail."
"Maybe so," the troll chuckled. "Maybe so."

Earth Elemental
ADVENTURES IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST (PART FOUR)
Standing on His Pile
Claire woke up one morning during a nightmare. "I need to find someone who will help me understand this crazy dream!" Claire told herself. She flew above the enchanted forest and eventually spotted a gnome, and she spiraled down to meet him. "Hello, kind sir. Do you happen to know Mr. Mellifluous by any chance?"
"Oh, yes, Mr. Mellifluous is a good friend," the gnome replied.
"Mr. M is very wise. He has helped me understand many, many things!" Claire exclaimed.
"So true. He is highly respected by all gnomes and fairies and undines and salamanders--and even some humans. Can I help you with anything, dear child?" the gnome asked.
"Well, I had a crazy nightmare this morning just before I woke up, and I was hoping that someone wise like you would help me understand it," Claire responded.
"It might be better for you to ask the Queen or King of Cups, but I'll try. By the way, I've had a dream too. Maybe you can help me understand it," the gnome responded. "Why don't you start by telling me the beginning of your dream."
"Thank you! At first in my dream, I saw a man standing of top of a huge pile of money. I felt really intimidated by that man," Claire confessed.

Monster Devouring the Government
"Thank you for sharing. I will have to hear more about your dream before I can come to any conclusions about the meaning of a single scene or image," the gnome explained.
"Next in the dream, I saw a monster destroying an important government building, like a capitol building or something," Claire replied.
"Okay, I think I'm beginning to understand, but I'll need more information before I can respond insightfully."

Farmer (Seven of Pentacles: Saturn in Taurus)
"I don't want to do all the talking. That would be rude. Why don't you tell me a little about your dream?" Claire asked.
"Well, let me see. At the beginning of my dream, I see a young farmer who is resting next to a plant with seven golden pentacles ripening on its vines," the gnome stated.
"I can explain a little about the meaning of that part of your dream, I think. Mr. Melliflous and others have told me that the pentagram represents all the energies of Universal Consciousness. Each point of the star represents a subtle element such as Earth, Air, Water, or Fire, and each element is associated with the energies of three zodiac signs and their ruling planets. Perhaps the farmer has the discipline and patience to let those energies ripen slowly. The farmer works for others, not just for himself. He is down to earth, but I think his goal must be to spread the mystical knowledge of the Tree of Life, a glyph which reveals all the dimensions of Universal Consciousness."
"Why, that is indeed very insightful, my child," the gnome blurted out.
"Thank you. I'm just repeating what Mr. M told me," Claire politely responded.
"Yeah, that sounds like him. You have a great memory, young lady! Mr. M would be very proud of you," the gnome chuckled.

Loss (Five of Cups: Mars in Scorpio)
"Please, keep describing your dream," the gnome urged.
Claire continued, "I remember a man gazing down at three golden cups that had been knocked over. He seemed to be mourning great losses. I felt sorry for him, but two cups still remained standing, and a path led over a bridge to some other possibility, like a new beginning or something, but the man just kept focusing on what he had lost."
"I'm beginning to see a theme running through your dream, but I think it might still be too early for me to explain it. Dreams can change pretty dramatically as you know. I don't want to jump in too soon," the gnome replied. "Please continue."

A Once Mighty River
"Well, okay. Next I dreamed of a once mighty river that was drying up. It was just a trickle compared to what it used to be. I felt sad for it," Claire confessed.
"That seems to fit in with the theme that I was thinking about. In this case, it suggests the consequences of global warming as well as the diversion of water resources such as rivers to irrigate the crops of rich landowners. Please, keep describing your dream," the gnome urged again.

Toxic Water
Claire continued, "Okay. Then I saw a rusty faucet with water flowing out of it. A skull and crossbones was attached to the faucet as though warning that something was wrong with the water."
"That might symbolize that the water is toxic or contaminated in some way," the gnome decided.
"That's what I thought," Claire replied.

Happy Family (10 of Cups: Mars in Pisces)
"Please tell me more about your dream," Claire insisted. "It's your turn."
"Okay, if you insist," the gnome smiled as he replied. "In the next part of my dream I see a happy family. The children are dancing, and the parents are looking up at a strange rainbow with ten golden cups, but the rainbow has only three colors: a glowing red or pink, blue, and yellow. Their house in the distance is on the other side of the rainbow."
"Oh, wow, I think I know what that means!" Claire exclaimed. "A rainbow usually appears at the end of a storm. The family is happy because a storm has ended, but I think there is deeper meaning. The colors of this rainbow suggest the three subtle elements of Fire, Water, and Air, and of course the place where they live is the manifestation of the fourth Element of Earth. The color pink is associated with the highest spiritual love of the heart, which might be why the Fire Element appears as a glowing red or pinkish color. Blue, of course, represents the Water Element, and yellow represents the Air Element. But that is not all--the family is manifesting something else in their world. The tenth and final Emanation of the Tree of Life is known as The Kingdom, which is where all of the elements manifest together. The ten golden cups in the rainbow suggest that abundance is manifesting for this family--an abundance of joy and love and happiness and contentment. Something, perhaps the rain storm, has washed all their negativity away."
"An exceptionally insightful interpretation, child!" the gnome blurted out.
"I learned all that from Mr. M," Claire responded."
"You can obviously pay close attention--an admirable quality in a child," the gnome replied. "Please tell me more of your dream."

Prisoner (Eight of Swords: Jupiter in Gemini)
"Okay, this is where the dream gets weirder. I saw a blindfolded woman bound by loose cloth and surrounded by eight swords as she stood at the edge of the sea. It seemed like her blindfold and the cloth that was binding her was about to slip off of her," Claire explained.
"She might be imprisoned by her own beliefs, the gnome replied.
"Yeah, there was a castle nearby that suggested that some power was keeping her blind and imprisoned and powerless, but that she might be able to break away from her limiting beliefs and free her mind at some point."
"Think back to the beginning of your dream. A man of great power and wealth was standing on a pile of money, and he intimidated you. People with great power and wealth try to control what other people think and believe. They condition and brainwash and intimidate and torture other people in their efforts to maintain absolute control. Some rich, powerful people will even tear down the government so that they can establish an autocratic system that doesn't allow freedom of thought or speech. They want the people they rule to fear that they will be punished for expressing dissent and to live without any governmental assistance--so that they remain vulnerable and powerless."

Air Pollution
"Well, that might explain what happened next in my dream," Claire replied. "I suddenly found myself in a creepy concentration camp, and I could see thick smoke billowing out of a chimney. It was terrible."
"That's what some people with power and money do to maintain control. They become dictators who send dissidents and people in demonized groups to concentration camps to use them as a slave force. Then they starve them and work them to death. That smoke that you saw in your dream was a horrific form of air pollution--the smoke of the slaves that they were cremating in their ovens."
"That is horrible!" Claire lamented. "It's worse than I thought."
"Please continue to describe your dream," the gnome politely encouraged Claire.

Transmitted through the Air
"Okay, if you insist." Claire replied. "Next I saw a king on a throne while people seemed to be dying all around him--I don't know what they were dying from, starvation or plague or both. The king just ignored them as if they meant nothing to him. For a moment he seemed to be a terrible monster who wanted to kill me just because his murderous neglect would show the masses how powerful he is."
"Yes, tyrants like to cause fear and chaos and violence, and they even murder people or let them die from starvation or neglect or unnecessary illnesses or plagues--that can be contained. Tyrants always want to show how powerful they are, and they don't care how much suffering they cause as long as they remain in control."

The Lovers (Gemini)
"Wow, my dream is getting darker and darker. Why don't you tell me more about your dream. Your dream seems a lot more hopeful than mine!" Claire blurted out.
"Okay, next in my dream I see an angel or archangel hovering in a cloud above a king and queen. He opens his arms wide as though welcoming them back to paradise. The queen holds a pentacle in one hand and a cup in the other while the king holds a sword and a wand," the gnome explained.
"Oh, I think I've got this, thanks again to Mr. M. The queen is revealing the passive feminine elements of Earth and Water, and the king is revealing the active masculine elements of Air and Fire. They reveal that together they have experienced all the subtle energies of the four elements and therefore know the dimensions of Universal Consciousness. They know the oneness of all creation. That is why the Archangel is welcoming them back into Eden," Claire explained. "Thank you for sharing. Your dream is making me feel better."
"Okay, tell me more about your dream, if you don't mind," the gnome encouraged Claire.

Leo the Lion
"Next I saw a lion that seemed to have been turned to stone, but its eyes glowed like fire as though it was coming back to life. Oh, yeah, I just remembered that lions are associated with the Fire element."
"Fire is also associated with justice. Maybe your dream is about to get better."
"I don't think so," Claire groaned.
"Well, please continue anyway," the gnome encouraged Claire.

Military Attack (On Their Own People)
"Okay, next I saw military forces kidnapping and shooting and bombing their own people and causing terrible fires."
"Tyrants send the military to quell dissent, and of course they create pretexts to use the military against their own citizens," the gnome stated.
"My dream keeps getting darker," Claire lamented.
"No worries. Please continue," the gnome urged.

Escalation
"In my dream, the war got worse and worse. Everything was burning. The soldiers were killing the people and burning everything down!" she exclaimed.
"A tyrant's war on his own people often escalates until he literally burns everything to the ground," the gnome explained.

Lord of Victory (Six of Wands: Jupiter in Leo)
"Let me explain my dream, which is actually a vision that I experienced while fully conscious," the gnome claimed. "The next thing I envisioned was a knight on horseback. He was holding a wand with a victory wreath on top--he is after all known as the 'Lord of Victory.' But what is this victory? It is an internal victory as much as any external victory. The knight is living in his higher self and understands that God is experiencing the world through him. He understands that he has developed a personality that he might at times consider unique, but more and more often his personality vanishes, and he sees through the eyes of God, so to speak. And he knows that each person is God experiencing the world through an individual perspective and that the entire cosmos consists of the One in the Many and the Many in the One. If you experience a nightmare, that is the God within you experiencing the terrible darkness--in contrast to the most brilliant light that God will also experience as you. That is all part of God experiencing the Many in the One--part of what some call the yin and the yang. If you experience a nightmare, I'm sure the Lord of Victory would say to you, 'Be still, and know that everything is God."
"That's lovely--something I never thought about before!" Claire exclaimed. "What else have you envisioned?"

The Empress (Venus)
"I have experienced a vision of the Goddess Venus. She, as you probably know, is the Goddess of love who also represents 'The Marriage of Heaven and Earth.' Through her we experience the beauty and harmony and abundance of creation, and through her we can also experience the unity underlying all of all creation, the One in the Many. When you know that you are God experiencing-- through your own individual perspective--the diversity and contrasts of the world, you eventually also experience and understand the meaning of 'The Marriage of Heaven and Earth."
"That's so beautiful!" Claire exclaimed. "Sounds like you have been talking to Mr. M."
"I have also learned a lot from Mr. M, as you probably have already guessed," the gnome chuckled.
"You guessed right," Claire stated as she giggled and fluttered her wings.
